Your Story: I agreed to be the Ticket Office Manager for one Fair as a favor to a friend. Nineteen Fairs later I was hired full time as the Office Manager and later was made Fair Manager

Your favorite thing about working for the fair: The Fair is put on every year primarily by volunteers. Over the years I have met many dedicated people who work together to give the community a fun and educational event. Opening day is my favorite; our patrons are excited to be here, especially the children. The livestock shows are fun for the kids. Most kids only see pictures of farm animals. I like to listen to their comments when they see the animals for the first time. Most heard comment “I didn’t know they were so big!”

Job: Operations Manager ( The wearer of many different hats, this includes toilet cleaner to chicken warden)

Your Story: Well, after working for a large corporation for over ten years and being laid off after a merger I answered an ad in the newspaper and was hired. The rest as they say is history.  But I will add this, its the type job that you either love or you hate, and I can say I do love the fair.

Your favorite thing about working at the fair: The SMILES!, when you a small child see a baby pig for the first time and their face lights up when they see that little pig. Or the expression on their faces when they see all lights from the rides lit and flashing. That makes everything we do worth it to me.

Your Story: I stumbled upon this job by luck. I have only been working here for a few months so far, and I won't be completely initiated into the "fair" until I go through my first fair.

Your favorite thing about working at the fair: Meeting and talking to new people everyday.
